This year was COMUNICA’s first time at SIMED (Mediterranean Real Estate Exhibition). We sent our Sales and Vendor Manager Nicolás M.M. Fontana to attend this renowned real estate event as our representative to try to connect with potential clients in the Mediterranean construction, development and real estate industries.

Safety measures

The leading event for this sector in the south of Spain opted this year to extend its professional scope through a mixture of in situ and virtual exhibitions.

Our representative greatly appreciated all of the safety measures in place at the venue, which adhered strictly to current Covid-19 regulations. Facemasks were mandatory, hand sanitiser was provided, social distancing measures were in place, and booths were positioned at a much greater distance from one another compared with previous editions.

Participants at SIMED

According to the SIMED press release (available here in Spanish), there were 3,400 registered attendees at the event.

However, Nicolás, as a regular attendee at previous editions of SIMED, noticed that the number of businesses and individuals present at the event was much lower than in previous years, due in part to a palpable fear of Covid-19 among the general population as well as to the travel restrictions currently being imposed by the majority of EU countries.

Some of the exhibitors present were:

  • Acapulco Inmobiliaria
  • ADS Marketing & Consulting
  • Agora MLS Agrupación Inmobiliaria
  • Andalucia Realty
  • Ayuntamiento de Málaga
  • Bankasa Grupo Inmobiliario
  • Básico Homes

Networking done right

Despite all the fear and the lower rate of attendance, Nicolás nonetheless managed to offer our services to all of those Mediterranean construction, development and real estate businesses who are open to offering their products and services to foreign buyers, which remains the biggest segment of investors in the Mediterranean.

If you need help communicating in the language of your potential buyers or investors – contact us and we will be more than happy to assist you.

Here’s hoping that the pandemic will be over soon and that when November 2021 rolls around, the number of attendees, exhibitors and business opportunities represented at SIMED will be greatly multiplied.
